Kansas Medicaid is a program that helps coverage for people with low monthly income, disabled people, pregnant women and limited assets .It is a joint Federal and state program. Kansas Medicaid is monitored by Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS).
Medicaid works along with Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance).
You have to pay for small amounts of coinsurance and deductibles in Medicaid.
Intermediate and custodial care is covered which is not covered in Medicare.
DMAS monitors the care needed to people of low income groups through Medicaid. It provides Medicaid by two programs-Managed Care Organizations (MCO) and Fee-for-service program FFS).
Medicaid eligible people are also benefited by waiver programs which cover home and community based care.
Some of these Waiver programs are AIDS Waiver, Intellectual disabilities waiver and Alzheimer’s Waiver.
